The Call of Duty Elite business model is changing… to free. It’s not exactly what it sounds like though. The main reason I was a Call of Duty Elite Premium Member was because it got
my DLC maps ahead of the rest of the world and in the end it was cheaper than purchasing all of them outright when the were released. Well it looks like Black Ops 2 didn’t like the way MW3 did monthly drops to certain people and they’ve gone back to the 4 Map Pack method that has worked for them in the past. However, this time you can buy a season pass up front and pay about $10 less in the overall scheme of things. Each DLC Map Pack will cost $15 if you buy them individually. I honestly don’t think I’m going to do the season pass. If they follow the same theme as previous Treyarch DLC releases, one of those releases will be all zombie maps, which I could care less about and won’t purchase. So my best bet would be to just buy all of the Map Packs outright and save myself the $15 I would spend on an all-zombie pack. Now that’s not saying there will be an all-zombie map, but if there is… I don’t want it.
I am a little upset that I won’t be getting the maps each month, and instead have to wait for a whole map-pack, but I’m just excited to play Black Ops 2 instead of having to play MW3 all the time, ugh.
